Beschrijving EN
This multi will take you from the pretty Thames-side village of Sonning, along the Thames Path, past Sonning Lock and on to the cache. On this pleasant stretch of the river you will need to collect some clues to help you find the cache.

We walked to the cache though it can also be reached by bicycle and boat. There's even a public mooring (free for 24 hours) close to the cache for those cachers arriving on water. This section of the Thames Path is well surfaced with tarmac and gravel so users of wheelchairs and buggies should have no trouble collecting the clues and reaching the general area of the cache. However, the cache itself is located up a steep bank and it may not be possible for disabled cachers to retrieve it without assistance.

If you arrive by car then you should be aware that because of its location Sonning is a popular place and parking can be difficult, especially on sunny weekends. Visitors often park on the roadside around N51°28.339 W000°54.786.

From the suggested parking walk north into the churchyard and at N51°28.426 W000°54.776 you will find a large arch with an interesting history. The date is ABCD and the city has E letters.

Continue west through the churchyard and join the Thames Path. Walk southwest until you arrive at Sonning Lock. Here there's a tea garden and toilets though they're both probably open only seasonally. You need to find the noticeboard describing the lock and below the poem there's a number of arches mentioned. This is F.

After exploring the lock you can then continue south along the Thames Path to the cache, which is of course in an arch at
N51°28.(F+E-B-D)(F*C+D-E-C) W000°55.(E-C)(F*D+A).
