Just about the last cache of the day for us.  With light fading fast we trekked from one Tor to the other, not sure if we were going to make it down before daylight had gone completely.  But having found the cache quickly and drained the water away, I replaced and we set off at a brisk pace. Amberel chose the path well and we arrived back at the camper van just in time before the rain started again.

We weren’t sure if we had enough daylight left for this one, we decided to go for it and made good speed up the hill. I spotted the cache quickly but the lid wasn’t on properly and there was a quarter of a pint of water in it. The various frogs and terrapins inside were in their element, but the pack of Happy Families cards were sodden and slimy, I dried everything out with a bar towel, except for the cards which regrettably were beyond recovery and which I removed to be thrown away.

Making an effort to complete this Challenge during this visit to Dartmoor now that we've broken into Opencaching.

Found after a brief search on a fresh and clear morning.

Apologies for the extremely late log - making a determined effort to rectify our lax logging on Opencaches, using geocache logs from our aging Garmin and photographs from our archives if available.

A sloppy walk over to this one. We were met by some rather friendly ponies as we approached the tor. Only the second hole Ian looked in.mtftc. Looks like more rain on the way - surprise, surprise.

I was caching by myself as Mrs. A was unable to accompany me.  Having messed about a bit with Stage One, trying to determine on which side of the wall the container was hidden, I eventually made it up the boggy track to Bellever Tor to find this, my first Opencaching.org.uk cache, as well as a number of others.  TFTC, Dartmoor Dave and, of course, for another famour New Year's Day Cream Tea Event at Postbridge.

:) FTF:)This was our second area to visit, and now the rain had started, and after being surrounded and watched by lots of gorgeous little ponies, whilst we obtained the coordinates for the cache we set off. This felt more like the New Year Challenge we know and love - wet, windy and wild! Delighted to find a lovely 2016 Dartmoor Geocoin in this cache - thank you! TFTC
