Description EN

This is a virtual Opencache located in the medieval vilage of Trellech.

The name of the village can be spelt numerous different ways. Some include Trelleck, Tryleg and Trelec. In all there are 26 ways of spelling it.

Trellech was one of the most important trading towns and civilisations in the whole of Wales in its heyday, but it suffered terribly during the Black Death of the 17th century. It was almost entirely wiped out, but the small, sleepy village still remains today.

It houses a magnificent church, pub and school, as well as many historical features, including Tump Terret, the Virtuous Well, Harolds Stones and the Trellech Cross (this is actually slightly outside Trellech).

The coordinates will take you outside a field, where medieval excavations take place and have been for several years now. They regularly uncover amazing discoveries, and just by the act of looking over the gate, you can see pillars and other stonework dating from the medieval ages.

At the coordinates, there is a sign, which is where you can get the log password.

It is possible to walk to Llandogo Road from here, but how far is it?

The number is the log password. The format should be x.y

Have fun and happy hunting!
