Ashplats wood is one of the best kept woods in East Grinstead. The woodland is maintained by Ashplats Wood Conservation Group (http://ashplats.org) who often do litter picking and coppicing to keep the woodland in top condition. The woodland is also a West Sussex Site of Nature Conservation Importance within the High Wield Area of Outstanding natural beauty.
Unfortunately, there is often litter found in the woodland. This can harm wildlife and means the woodland isn't as nice as it could be in some areas. This often comes from the surrounding houses where litter is either thrown over or blown through fences. To help you could try doing your own Cache In Trash Out while caching in the woodland. Pick up any litter you find and either take it home with you or throw it away in one of the bins at the south end of the woodland.
In March (2015) there will also be a CITO event held in the woodland (OK034B). This will be a great way to lend a helping hand.
This is a Letterbox Hybrid, so don't forget to bring your own personal stamp to stamp the logbook, and your personal logbook to use the stamp inside the cache.
