For the past 50 years a Hawthorn tree has grown at Erme Pits, a lone soldier in the wilderness. Unfortunately in recent times the wood from the tree has been used to fuel the odd camp fire or two. We thought by planting a new Hawtorn tree at Erme Pits would restore this unique remote area to its former glory. The cache has been placed with the kind permission of the Dartmoor National Park and in accordance with the new geocaching guidelines and complies with the DNPA Agreement:- http:/www.Dartmoor-npa-gov.uk/visiting/vi-enjoying Dartmoor/geocaching
