The purpose of the “Lest we forget….” series is to take a moment out of our busy lives to remember those who fell fighting for our country. This series, started by ‘Bearded Zombie’, is exclusive to Opencaching.uk
The memorial is in the form of a granite column and can be found in the grounds of St Anthony's Church, Alkham. The memorial was unveiled and dedicated on 8th October 1919. The builder was Mr Henry Harvey and the manufacturer Messrs Hambrook & Johns. It was repainted and the lettering was refurbished in 1981.
