I have been warned by The System that this and its neighbouring opencaches will soon be automatically archived since they have been Temporarily Disabled for too long. So be it. These caches are still checked and maintained but it remains the case that I do not wish them to be publicly logged, should an adventurer be resourceful enough to find them. Since it is not straightforward (or possible?) to view archived opencaches,  I believe the html copy at http://abanazar.com/opencaching/OC_ARCHIVE/menu.html will suffice as a starting point, so long as the lure of the adventure outweighs the ability to log online.

This will be disabled for a while and should not be logged.

Out for a wander on the way home from work, I had a look at an interesting stone object.  I'm sure that I wouldn't have appreciated it without it being drawn to my attention.

Loving the course, have completed the theory but still some revision required before our practical. first few questions of the test answered on 17/6/17 but ran out of time to finish so will be back to do the other papers soon. (fortunately the revision shouldn't affect us based on the papers completed) Hope to graduate in the 2017 class afterall.

The finding of the ARSUP approved Box University ‘The Riddle of the Stone’ Educache

Abstract:

The May 2017 student intake were successful in both the academic groundwork and the subsequent field expedition required to pass the course.

Introduction:

This course is a recent addition to the curriculum and we only became aware of it a week ago at which time we immediately eagerly enrolled.  Industrial Archaeology, especially in the SN15 locality, is a subject in which we have a growing interest and we have studied what could be regarded as the natural precursor to this course - OK0349 - although it must be stressed that this is by no means a prerequisite.

Methods:

The theory element was extremely educational and the continual assessment elements relatively straightforward as long as a close eye was kept on attention to detail. The only slight exception to this concerned the final test, somewhat different in nature compared to the earlier elements, in which both perseverance and two close eyes were required; hopefully, it will not compromise course copyright if we suggest that a good quality and good-sized computer monitor really does make a difference.

The field work follows on directly from the theory and both complements and expands on it beautifully.  A considerable number of individual study modules call for a diverse range of tasks to be completed, ranging from the calculation of crane operating parameters through to the requisition of information from a former quarry worker.

Results:

The integration of the information gained from the individual study modules leads directly to the final apposite location and a container filled to the brim with relevant takeaway items (please note that the high quality of the container contents renders the often-used term ‘geotat’ entirely inappropriate on this occasion).

Discussion:

Don’t forget your tape measure!

Conclusion:

A rare mix of ‘adventurous’ mental and physical exercise set against a genuinely educational backdrop and just fabulous fun!

Whilst possibly not suitable as a very first underground excursion, in all other respects this course is not as demanding as some of the other experiences offered by the same lecturer and comes with the highest of recommendations.

Acknowledgments:

It is understood that the course lecturer developed all his own material and his meticulous attention to detail greatly enhances the course experience.  He is, perhaps, better known for his contribution to the study of the magical arts but it would appear that his facility with more down-to-earth subjects is equally as accomplished.
