Posted an updated spoiler photo.

Myself and NSCR had a rare free day together and had decided to head out on to the Moor. Deciding where to go is always difficult. Dartmoor Dave suggested his new series which mainly comprises of open caches. That series is 13 miles long, today I walked 14 miles and only made a small dent in it before we decided to call it a day due to the weather.

NSCR had previously been here, so didn't need to log it.

Always nice to find a Gribben cache, this time on a day full of opencaches because I was following the new opencache GeoPath loop.

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

Pleased to find this after a short search working without the benefit of the spoiler photo.

Picked up as part of a walk of almost 14 miles in eight and three-quarter hours.

Wow that was a tricky one with all the marsh grass growing in the area. I was very grateful for the spoiler photo, I would have settled for a DNF otherwise. I rather like this part of the moor, I like it a lot more than Cranmere Pool which is my next destination!

Thanks for a great cache still going strong after all these years

This cache was one of my main objectives of the day on a 9 mile walk out from Nodden Gate.  The day had started off with sunshine, but this rapidly disappeared as I walked deeper into the moor and by the time I reached here it was bitterly cold and with the mist reducing visibility to a few yards.  Fortunately I had brought the spoiler photo as it was far too cold for a long search and with the visibility as it was, I couldn't even see the main tor let alone take a bearing on Fur Tor!  The cache was exactly where it should have been and is often the case with a Gribben cache - certainly didn't disappoint!  Great to see the original logbook which I stamped and a really nice cache container.  TFTC which gets the highest rating !

Great cache, didn't realise this was here on last visit for GC caches. Great container, great stamp (nice surprise), and a fair while since last visited. Can't understand it as the other OC nearby has been visited recently, many thanks Gribben.

2904 2014-07-20 11:00 Gribben (user activity120) - Note

Visited today and the cache was still sitting snug and dry underneath its rock! I`ve replaced the container with a 1 litre transparent box that looks less "military" than the old green pot. The original log book remains. The cache is still under the lower edge of a large flat slab, a clump of reeds (?) has grown just in front of the hiding place .

Found on 8/7/09 so am logging here, hope that's OK with you.  At the time I said "A beautiful day to be on the moors, very atmospheric in the overcast, ideal weather for walking and a good walk"  I remember it well so it must have been good.
