On my annual winter trek up and down through this amazingly 'wild' Gorge, the best time, when the river is up and the tree cover is down!! This has been probably my 6-7th visit to this lonely place over the years, and I never tire of scrambling through the rocks and trees, looking down to the Dart and up to Benjy Tor! The cache is in excellent condition and was placed here by my good friend Dave, returning the favour after I got him down here for another moving cache! So I haven't moved it on, giving a opportunity for someone else to experience this wonderful Tor!

Cache relocated to Hockingston Tor.. oh joy - what a lovely "easy to get to" Tor. The cache is located in the same hide as used by the "Dartmoor Drifter- archived cache-- hopefully soon to be re-enabled and made available after its very long rest here.. Hope you enjoy the location... Cache located within one metre of the tree at the very highest point of the tor--ie not on the river side of tor. GPs is poor here in the trees so this hint is important.. good luck.

It was a pure fluke that I happened to notice this one had moved to area I would be visiting. (In my mind it was still over at Sourton!). Anyway, without too much effort I made a short diversion over to this one. Cache moved on.. will re-site on my next Dartmoor excursion.. tftc

I was out on a last minute dash on the new Cudlipptown Down series and was haslf way through when this cache popped up on c.geo showing that it was nearby. Unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to pick it up as I wasnt sure when I would be back on the moor.

I came out today to find some nearby GC caches and then suddenly remembered that this was somewhere not far away. Fortunately I could access the OC web site and saw that this was about 1km away. So another climb up this tor which I visited very recently! Soon spotted the cache in the gorse bush but I firmly believe that moving caches should be moved and not left where they are - isn't that the idea? Unfortunately the weather conditions deteriorated quickly (as forecast) so I have brought the cache home and will replace on Dartmoor as soon as we get a dry day. Many thanks for a cache which is different. I think the CO should log this as temporarily unavailable until I replace it and post the new coordinates.

Found but not moved. I made the short diversion from a nearby series (listed on another site) and threw caution to the wind when making the retrieval. Gorse bushes are not my choice of hiding place!
I didn't want to take the cache to move it on because it was raining. I could have chosen a less-than-perfect hide in my rush to stow the container somewhere else or, worse still, not found a hiding place at all.
Thanks for placing another cache of this type, I hope to visit it again in future. TFTC
