After an interesting route out to this area it was good to have a wander around this part of the high moorland. It seemed much greener and difficult to traverse than I remembered, very difficult terrain to be sure. Cache found all well and good, now heading North to look for an old letterbox-- TFTC

After my  DNF on another nearby cache I was glad to spot the hide straight away. TFTC

Plodded over from Kneeset on a lovely morning and found the cache after a short search..

Had a wander around looking for a couple of other nearby caches, then moved on towards Cranmere.

Myself and NSCR had a rare free day together and had decided to head out on to the Moor. Deciding where to go is always difficult. Dartmoor Dave suggested his new series which mainly comprises of open caches. That series is 13 miles long, today I walked 14 miles and only made a small dent in it before we decided to call it a day due to the weather.

We had split up and rejoined for these. They will be the last few caches for the day as the rain has come in and we don't want to be ruining the caches

Today is the day that Dixie Gooner and I take on the Dartmoor Geopath. The forecast is not great but what do the met office know.

Thankfully a quick find and a good hide. Can't wait to go home now.

Thanks Dartmoor Dave for the cache.

The ground starting to get a little more difficult, and would continue in this way until well the other side of Cranmere Pool.

Thanks for the cache,

was interesting to read the description to learn more about this area. Cache found nice and quickly and replaced just as a muggle appeared

I am of the age that whenever I see an area of peat I never fail to remember the Two Ronnies sketch where they played in a band called Pete Cutter and the Boggers.
Tough going to get here but worth it for this natural feature. TFTC

FTF at 13:55

Having found GP08 in its former guise as Dartmoor Challenge 22 in April 2016 skipped that one but found the more recent Dartmoor Adventure Open cache while passing the top of Great Kneeset.

A very easy find once at GZ after a hard slog from the previous cache.
