This was my first OC of the day, on a long overdue visit to the area in search of some Dartmoor Treasure. Arrived here for a quick find after following the valley up from Steeperton brook- once I had passed through the gorse lower down, the route wasn't at all bad. TFTC

I was well overdue a walk on the Moor, so teamed up with Smithy138. Although it was a cold day, there was no wind and it remained dry. The ground was frozen in a lot of places which was a blessing.

We decided to get these on the way back and cross the river here. We didn't fancy the steep climb out of the gorge on our outward trip. Once again we split up as Smithy isn't interested in the opencaches

Puh, down is always easier than up. Getting to the cache took a bit of slow walking to make sure not hit too many holes under the grass/heather/gorse. Surprisingly, I found the cache before looking at the spoiler. Now for the very long walk up. TFTC

Took a while here, mainly due to the roasting sun, but found thanks to previous log :-)

I am the first cacher to visit this one since it was awarded 'cache of the month' and I think it is deserving of the award. I approached from Taw Marsh and managed to follow a reasonable path along the eastern bank of the infant river Taw.

A short scramble up the bank brought me to a likely hiding spot. The cache wasn't in there but it was under the adjacent rock. TFTC

My first find of the day, I dropped down the valley after spending the night up at the Tor.

I then explored further along the gorge and reached the lovely cascade. Not always easy in this terrain with a rucksack full of camping gear!

The furtherest out we're going today, will pick up the series again another time.  Many thanks for the few we've done today.

Not sure if we came in by the advised route but we got there with a scramble down the hill then up the other side a little way. Many thanks for the cache.

The lovely location earns this one of my very scarce recommendations!

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

This I did on my return journey quickly found  very steep here and quite glad to get down and across the river.

Third in the series that I have found on the way out to Steeperton and on to Wild Tor and Ockerton Court after a mix of groundspeak and opencaches.  Thanks for the cache.

Got don to the correct area without too much trouble but then couldn't see the spoiler pic so this one took us a little while

Corr! that's what I called a descent. GPS hopped about a bit before I was able to home in on GZ. TFTC

FTF at 16:30

A straightforward find once at GZ but getting there was probably the toughest part of the whole GeoPath which played havoc with my sore and aching feet. Climbing out of the western side of the gorge was also hard work!
