Out today to do the other half of the geopath. Last time I've chickened out from crossing the bog from Cranmere Pool.

Good job I had the spoiler photos downloaded. I've needed them most of the time. TFTC

I was out for a day's caching with NSCR as we attempted some more of the OoenCache Geopath.

I struggled to find the location in the spoiler picture. It turned out to be just the other side of the Tor - on the more exposed side

Dixie_Gooner and I have got together to have a stab at the opencache geopath again. With a plan to pick up as many as we can along the way.

One down a million to go haha

Thanks Dartmoor Dave for the cache.

Its early, its Sunday and its Ten Tors day and I am having a long overdue caching day which includes a part of this Geo Path. This was the first OC of the day, was quickly spotted in perfect condition as expected. Now heading South-- in the mist.. TFTC

As I get closer to civilization it seems that curious rock scrambling people are finding this cache and adding their names to the book. I am sure the CO doesn't have a problem with this as it develops the game but perhaps one of the accidental finders will have more sinister motives? I don't think I have enough information to calculate the bonus cache but that is yet another excuse to return to this fantastic part of Dartmoor.

Found on a very windy day, many thanks.

Out on the moor today in somewhat blustery conditions, Dartmoor being mildly unfriendly in it's choice of weather today . We were warmly clad so at least the temperature wasn't a problem.  We approached this one from stage 4 of the Ad Lab and the wind was certainlystrong as we arrived.  It was with some trepidation that we commenced our search (sans photo), very glad when BB put her hands on it in a sheltered spot and we could move on. View were good as always, MTFTC

I'd set off from Belstone with a large walking group following not very far behind me. When I reached the cache I discovered a couple more "muggles" sitting close by. Fortunately, they departed and I was able to do my business just before the main group caught up with me!

This was in the pipeline to do next in this series, as we had a cache of our own to check.  Turned out that we also had a GC cache that just came out to find as well.  Mr. W coped far better with the Belstone Ridge terrain today, after having done the Adventure Lab, more or less knew the best route for him.  The spoiler photos for these caches are helpful, but the co-ords are good.  Cache quickly found thankyou.

As with the previous cache, I spent ages here and could simply not match up the terrain with the spoiler photo. Mindful that on that one I needed to cross to the opposite side of the tor, I thought I would try that again, so I hopped up onto the top. No, the other side was no better. But while I was wandering around on the top I looked down and was pretty sure that what I was seeing was one of the rocks in the spoiler - all I had to do was make my tricky way down to it without losing track of where it was ;-)

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

Quick find, stealth needed due to muggle sat at the top

FTF at 18:35

This took quite a while to find with a bitter easterly wind now whipping around me as I searched. Had to put my fleece back on to conduct the search, much of it spent examining much larger vertical rocks up above.

Persistence paid off in the end but as usual access to the spoiler picture would had led to a find in a fraction of the time!
