Very overgrown and I was unable to spot it. Decided this one has run its course.

Today was Day 4 of my walk around the Capital Ring; this time from Earlsfield to Richmond. This is probably the greenest section of the Ring, with the highlights of Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park, and I enjoyed a pleasant walk.

I'd tried unsuccessfully to work out the location of the cache before leaving home but all the data I could find for one question was clearly incorrect so as King Henry's Mound is just a short distance from the Capital Ring then I took the detour. It's quite a while since I was last here - no doubt for another cache - and I was surprised how busy the spot was on a Friday in January. I collected and checked all the information during a brief gap in the muggles and then set off for the cache.

After a short walk I arrived at a promising location but I wasn't able to match the spoiler photo to the vegetation, nor could I see a cache. I guess that in six years the area will have changed and a cache could be anywhere in the undergrowth. Perhaps a quick check, Andy?

Another try at finding my first Opencache-only cache.  I spent about quarter of an hour having a look around the final coordinates for this one.  I could have definitely spent longer and still found places to search, but I had an Africa! cache to finish, so I cut things short once I'd had a scout around since I couldn't really match the spoiler photo to anything.

Cache maintenance. Access is tricky due to undergrowth, but possible, just beware of a few brambles. The cache was fine - the log is very slightly damp but not enough to have to replace it and lose the history. The little torch I put in there when I set the cache is still there, but events have rather caught up with it - it was quite a neat little mini- torch at the time, but now LED torches have taken over Smile.

Parked at Pembroke Lodge to do both this cache and OK0091 "Common or Bottom?" The views from King Henry's mound are amazing, well worth checking out.

After working out the co-ords I walked through Petersham Park towards the cache site, spotting some bunnies along the way, and what looks like an ice house.

Upon opening the cache I spotted a familiar looking VW camper keyring, could this be one of the ones I dropped in caches when I started caching?

TFTC and the great views.

Visited today and converted the log book to show OpenCache. Took me 10 minutes to find it, even though it was in exactly the right place!

Note that this cache is marked as "OC only" as this will be the long term status of the cache. However, it is in the process of being migrated from the TerraCaching site. I have posted on the TerraCaching cache page my intention to archive it there in two weeks, so as to give time for any TerraCacher to visit had they planned to do so.

During this period the cache will be cross listed, and the log in the cache will describe itself as a TerraCache. From then onwards it will be exclusively an OpenCache and I will visit to update the contents.
