Can someone tell me how to archive this cache.

4617 2018-06-10 09:33 Redruth Roamers (user activity46) - Temporarily unavailable

By the look of the photo in the last log, this one has gone after nine years on the moor. Not bad going I suppose.

I am no longer able to get out to this cache to check/maintain it.

I cant seem to find an Archive option, so I'm making it unavailable for now.

If anyone would like to adopt it feel free to do so.

When I placed this cache, it was a joint placing with a Letterboxer who also shared its whereabouts, and there are a lot of letterboxes going missing nowadays.

Thanks to the few of you who managed to get out to this cache and find it, and the one who didn't and kindly posted a photo of the site.

Andrew - Redruth Roamers.

I think I found the right rock but didn't find the cache. I widened my search area and was probably staring right at it for a while

A nice easy find. plenty of walkers on the Lych Way today probably due to the weather being so good for April.

Lovely find on a freezing cold day on the Moor.  The cold made the walk out along the Lych Way much easier as all the bogs were frozen solid!

Nice place. Found this one whilst doing the series of geocaches on the Lych Way.

Having walked round in a big loop of OpenCaches this was the farthest point I would reach today, just Beardown to collect on the way back to Two Bridges. A great spot with lots of history.

The log book contained lots of letterbox stamps so it's obviously been found quite a few times recently.

Regrettably the cache box was full of inky water, though the plastic bag had kept the log dry. I carry a bar towel and dried it out best I could, then left it for 5 minutes to "air" in the brisk north wind.

This cache earns one of my TOP CACHE awards - I make a unique geocoin for the owners, see http://www.amberel.com/topcache.htm .

Thanks for a great cache in a great location,

Rgds, Andy

The cache container and log book will be replaced over the August bank holiday week. Hopefully the good quality lock & lock will keep the weather out this time - its no good buying cheap stuff when its out in a place like this.

Walked from Holming Beam to get this cache first of the day on a 9.3 mile walk, also popped down to the leat to photograph the two bridges and the tinners hut just across the valley. Nice sunny day but still a bit of a cold wind. TFTC.

The log book is wet and needs replacing.

271 2010-02-08 00:00 The Hamian Explorers (user activity20) - Found it

We set off for a walk on this cold day, covering 10 miles while picking up geocaches and opencaches on the way. It got colder the deeper into the moors we walked, and the higher we climbed. And Windrush said, I managed to step right into a bog and sink into it to my knee. Though it was very cold, the water in my boot got warmed up by my foot, creating the sort of insulation one gets in a wetsuit, so fortunately it didn't cut our walk short. A hailstorm later on did though, as we decided we had gotten too cold to go even deeper into the moors.

Continuing the walk from Two Bridges, the wind got colder the higher we climbed and the bogs got colder as the Hamian discovered when she sank to her knee in one!  Great place for a cache despite the bogt.  Sadly the log is wet but is still usable.  On to the Tiners Rabbit.

It was -2° when I left the car but with the wind chill it was a little cooler than that on the way here today. I went straight to it thanks to bang on coords so I wasn't hanging round searching too long. The box had taken on some water and some of the pages were stuck together with ice. I managed to open up a page and sign the log anyway, all the other logs were by letterboxers so far.

Thanks for a good cache in a great spot. I enjoyed the visit today despite the cold and fog.
