Checked on this as I was passing today (to be honest I couldn't remember if I had already found it or not) and everything was fine.

An unnecessary return visit, just over a year after finding the cache the first time.
Never got round to logging the original find but enjoyed finding it again on a breezy afternoon.
Nice to sign the relatively new logbook.
TFTC, again.

I have visited High Willhays many times but have never checked before to see if it held an opencache and was very pleased to see that it did, and that the cache has recently been adopted and maintained. This is a fantastic location for a cache, one of the best on Dartmoor with superb views in all directions. Many thanks for adopting and maintaining this cache which certainly gets a recommendation from me.

Having an amble around the moor today, starting from West Mill Tor, heading over to Vergyland Coombe, up the Brim Brook over to Dinger Tor. The plan wasn't to visit High Willhays today, but heartradio mentioned he'd like to visit, and who am I to argue that as it was such a beautiful day and my last visit a few months ago to High Willhays was very foggy. I had found all the other caches up here, and so it made sense for me to completely clear the area with this one final cache to find. After carrying out maintenance on one of my caches I headed to the top. The cache was quickly found, and I signed myself in on the new log. Thanks Dave for keeping this cache going, I certainly enjoyed finding it.

A quick and easy find on a fine and clear Spring day as part of a walk of 11.5 miles from Meldon Reservoir out to the high moor and back.
Apologies for the very late log - never got round to logging the find, but the hide seemed very familiar when I re-visited the cache just over a year later!

After almost 7000 finds on various caching sites it is not often that I see something I have not seen before. Wet or damp logs are ten-a-penny but to have a logbook that is frozen solid is something I have not experienced before. Fortunately other cachers have left a temporary log so I could sign that to prove I was there. TFTC, pop up and give it some TLC Dave

Thanks, but this cache does need maintenance the log book is just soaked through. A superb position. He-Va left a small piece of paper which we have signed. Unfortunately was not carrying any spare logs today.

I missed this one last time I was up here, and so it was one of my main aims for today to pick it up. Like others recently have said the log is in a bit of a state and will need some TLC, I couldn't sign it. Sorry I didn't have a spare. Any disappointment in the container dryness department was more than made up for by the terrific views from here, however unfortunately the rain came along to put a dampener on that! Ominous black clouds while I was signing the log so I made a quick start back down to the car, luckily I arrived back before the rain got too heavy! Thanks to Dave for keeping this cache going in a great place.

We planned a trip up Yes Tor and High Willhays for the great views. On approach to the carpark, High Willhays was already in cloud but we hoped for the mist to lift.
Sadly it was not to be. By the time we were on West Mill, the cloud had dropped further and the wind was whipping up and conditions were a little unpleasant. We stopped but briefly here before dropping down out of the cloud over Fordisland ledge and Black Tor.
I hadn't read previous logs so I didn't know the cache was in need of TLC until we got there. The box contained some water which we emptied out as best we could under the conditions. Both logbooks were completely saturated and unsignable, so we added a small piece of paper inside a plastic bag which could keep it going a little longer. Sadly that was all we had with us this time.

I have unarchived this cache and set it to temporarily unavailable. As you have stated this cache does need some tlc and I assume that the new owner will do this soon. The listing also needs updating as there are photos which are no longer available, etc. In the meantime, this cache is now available to be found and logged. And thank you Dave for adopting this cache to keep it active - a great location indeed.
Dave.

I had visited this one before- and didn't log it- not knowing what is was. Today I was out on a brisk walk with my daughter and I happened to find it again. This time I took a photo to help identify it.. The container is fine but the log book wet - what a great location and so close to the summit.. I nearly removed the container but thought better of it- would rather try and adopt it if possible. Great find - thanks for placing all those years ago...

Climbed up in the early morning mist and found the cache straight away. Sat down for a cup of tea and the clouds parted to reveal Dartmoor's grandeur.

We made our way up the tor in the thick fog collecting a few letterboxes on the way, only the ones on gps were possible. We got to the top and the fog cleared to a lovely sunny day! Cache was quickly found, safe and dry. We also got a total of 28 letterboxes, so a good day out on Dartmoor's highest hill.

Logging in January after having found this cache as a TerraCache in July last year. I was on a three day caching trip from London on my motor-cycle, and this cache was one of my primary targets.
I had spent the night at a B & B near Bodmin after having done Brown Willy yesterday, so had only about 50 miles to ride on my motor-bike this morning, to the parking area near Maldon Reservoir.
I set off over the dam, then headed directly up the hill following the arrow. The car park at Maldon was full of people and I thought I would see walkers everywhere, but the moor was deserted. I saw no-one at all throughout my climb up to High Willhays until I was about 100 metres from the cache, when my path converged with a young couple walking from Yes Tor.
And they stayed on top of the Tor chatting on their mobiles for a while, which meant that, incongruously, I had to employ stealth to recover the cache . Luckily this was easy to do. The hiding place was obvious, and I was able to settle down on the grass, have a drink and eat my sandwiches, after which I could feel round for the cache with my actions concealed by the rocks.
I could have sat there for ages, out of the breeze and enjoying the spectacular view, but I had more caches to do today . This was the last of my four primary targets, but I had a few Groundspeak caches I wanted to do on the way back. If you also cache using Groundspeak, the caches in the Red-a-ven Brook valley are excellent.
Thanks for an truly great cache, one I'll never forget, and one which has earned a recommendation from me.
Rgds, Andy
