Having not read the description I was surprised to see the GPS take me to the middle of the track. All became clear after a couple of minutes and before long I could see the cache.

TFTC and well deserving of a recommendation which I will add when on a desktop machine

Wow, who would have thought this was here in a very popular GS caching area. I know I have been here before long ago when we used to camp in the area frequently. The cache took some effort to reach- and I was so glad I put some old gear on. I did manage to drop my pen on route so have supplied a photo as proof of finding. Great spot, and cache in great order.. thankyou.

What a fantastic cache this is.  Only been found twice since 2012 and in perfect condition and still full of interesting swag !  As I approached GZ I could see no sign of what was to come and thought I had got the coordinates wrong.  However a closer examination quickly showed where the cache was going to be and offered two alternatives.  I chose the top option, not being a beer drinker, but anybody over 11.5 stones might struggle and would be better choosing the other option !  Certainly needed a torch but managed to sign the log in situ so only one journey needed.  I can't rate this cache high enough, probably the 2nd best cache I have found on Dartmoor, the other also being an opencache.  Many thanks indeed for placing.

Arrived at GZ & had trouble spotting the hint item for a while, until Mr R thought about it.

Access is now difficult from the lower side due to undergrowth, so Mr R tried from the higher side. Once he had got part way in he spotted a problem for people who drink as much beer as him. Next in was Maddy who got to the spot, but came out quickly when she spotted a big spider.

Final attempt was by James who managed to retrieve the cache & bring it to surface for signing & then replace it. He was very pleased with himself too.

Best cache of our week on Dartmoor by far.

We’ve found nearly all our opencaches while on holiday in Devon - here’s another one! We’d driven further than usual from our Exmouth base for a small sample of the fine caching that is available around Burrator. This opencache appealed to me, not least because I’m not averse to grubbing around below the surface.

Paradoxically, as a finder one of the great things for me about opencaches is coming across something that hasn’t been found for a couple of years! (As an incentive to potential opencache hiders, this may work in reverse of course, although it doesn’t deter me!)

As a finding bonus, this cache and its contents were in pristine condition. In fact, #2 Son even wanted to trade (we haven’t traded on groundspeak caches in years!). He took a fancy to a leather band/bracelet, and fortunately I had one decent bit of swag in my bag: a new tape measure keyring.

A good cache - thanks for bringing us here.

Took a long leap from Berkshire to Devon for leap day geocaching activities with Heffalump007 and Metal-Bijou. February 29th 2012 was a glorious day on Dartmoor in excellent company with a bundle of great caches, rounded off with loads of laughs and a trio of geocaching events. A top day from start to finish. After the excitement of the day, even the very extended drive home through pea-soup fog couldn't dampen my spirits.

I'll have to come to Devon more frequently and especially to find spannerman caches!  This was an excellent cache and pushed Metal-Bijou into logging it, having started the day as a Groundspeak-only cacher, he completed it as an OpenCacher and a Munzeer!  MB couldn't resist being the one to dive into GZ, having chosen the more accessible end, whereas I had chosen the wetter and less accessible end.  After a bit of back-tracking he soon had the cache in hand.  Thanks for a great cache. Oh dear. My first open cache. Well that's a little white lie. Earlier today I found some that were cross listed but I found themas GC caches.

Heff, Sandvika and I came here after a nearby pub meet and Sandvika suggested that it would be rude to pass an honest cache on the way to our goal of a terrain 4.5 GC cache.

And rude it really would have been. If this had been on GC it certainly would have got a favourite point.

Great fun was had here. The hint and Ambrel's log helped and we did the same before we found the very well placed cache.

Getting stamps to gether for the log caused scrapes and bumps and in hindsight we should have just used the pen in the cache.

Thank you for this most enjoyable and expected (for me) treat.

Stumbled across this cache on leap day 2012. It pinged on my GPS, so it just HAD to be done. Nice hide. TFTC

It was a miserable morning. I set off from my B&B in Modbury, on my scooter, in steady drizzle and with the clouds so dense and low the visibility was only a few feet.

But as I climbed up to Burrator I broke through the clouds into the sunshine, and it was a different day.

Found my way to the cache location, and set off inside. It was fairly damp in there! I've only just now seen the hint - if I had looked at that before, it would have saved me some trouble - I didn't spot the cache on the way in, and went rather too far Laughing.

As always, Spannerman has filled the cache with a collection of unusual swaps. I was taken with the little toolkit, but I had left my bag of trade items outside in my rucksack, and as I wasn't going to go back for it, I took nothing and left nothing Laughing.

Thanks for a fun cache,

Rgds, Andy

A nice easy find. Plenty of walkers about today, probably due to the good weather for April.

I've been meaning to do this for a while, so when I had a gap in the Xmas schedule today I put on my second best coat and off I went. I enjoyed the hide, and I bet this is one cache that's easier in this type of weather. Many thanks.

Luckily a torch is part of my cache kit so when I found myself near this one that wasn't a problem,  looked at one way first and thought YUK, not after the recent rain.  Then a thought struck the Hamian Explorer with me and  it was a good one.  Lousy views from the cache site but as you say great ones on the journey to and from.  Many thanks for htis one, really must get around to some more.

Decided to give this one a try today as I was in the area doing a very early Christmas letterbox walk followed by a few caches. I made a mental note to take a torch and then forgot it. But thought I would take a look anyway, Ummed and arred for a few minutes shall I shan’t I. Then thought back to a week ago when I got a joint FTF on the new 5/5 cache in Tavistock, as no one else had finished yet I thought what a lot of wimps. So I thought if I can do that one I can do this one, so I went in, no torch, it was disgusting place glad it hadn’t rained lately, found the cache with a bit of feeling around, what is that blue thing for?

So now I have got this one no one dare call me a wimp.   I still hate going underground!

TFTC and the FTF prize.
