I teamed up with Mr NSCR to get out on the moors and grab a few caches today. He chose the route and there were a few that I had already done and some which he had recently adopted. We both like an Open cache, so it was a varied day.
Great hint, co ords and a spoiler

There's no record of this cache in the logs on my GPSr as either a Find or a DNF so I can't be certain that I tried and failed.
However, it would be very odd not to search for it when I tried the other five caches in the mini-series so the DNF is more likely.
Must return with the spoiler next time!

Spotted that I'd be going past this one on my walk out to Oke Ridge today, so decided to stop and look. I'd forgotten how steep Belstone Tor was! I was lucky to come across the cache fairly quickly - it was extremely well hidden. Nicely done.

This series of opencaches was my main objective of the day, although I did place a couple of caches myself. This really is a fantastic spot and Belstone is one of my favourie Dartmoor Tors, mainly because of the multitude of possible cache hides, but also because of the fantastic views afforded. Used the spoiler photo here for a fairly easy find with spot on coordinates, tftc. Care needs to be taken when replacing this cache as otherwise it could be lost forever!

We circled below the summit first before heading to the right spot. One we got there,we were very glad to have the spoiler, as there were so many potential hiding places.
Really enjoying our walk today - it's lovely weather and the views are beautiful and, as a bonus, we haven't seen another person.
Now on to a nearby geocache before heading down to the Nine Maidens.

A good bit of exercise for the heart muscles on the way here and the advice to sit and enjoy the view was taken with pleasure. I actually went to the top for a rest before looking for the cache as the view is 360° from up there. I did have the photo spoiler so found it quite quickly but I can see anyone without it will be searching a long time, it is well tucked away.
Onwards and downwards, T4TC.

A vigourous climb from "The Bell" to "The Summit", and another long search. I didn't have the spoiler photo with me due to a malfunction of the web site during the recent upgrade, so after a while I tried to download it on my phone.
Despite an reasonable signal, the cache page and photo took an eternity to load, but once they had done so the spoiler provided me with the crucial information I needed to find the cache.
It's pretty much downhill all the way home, now. Next stop "Irishman's Wall".
Thanks for the cache,
Rgds, Andy

FTF!! Lovely day to be on this crowded part of the Moor. Lots to do, lots to see and lots of interesting folk with whom to exchange stories.
