It’s been ages since I’ve visited the Mewy Valley, and as are dog sitting our daughters springier, what a good excuse to come and explore this area, this being the first after leaving Meres End parking lay-by above!

After all the horrendous weather we have had recently, finally it looked as though spring has arrived! So Judy and I wanted to take the dogs out onto the moor, somewhere where we haven't been recently. This opencache was just perfect for that and the weather was perfect too. However, after all the recent rain it was much wetter underfoot than I had anticipated and we probably had the wrong footwear. However, we soon arrived at GZ for an easy find, tftc.

Not as impressive as the aqueduct over the Meavy but good to see nonetheless. I managed to find the cache without any assistance over and above the GPS arrow which was a bonus. TFTC
Please note the log is a bit damp but still usable

I have walked and rode my MTB across this aquaduct many times but it was only when this cache appeared that I realised it was an aquaduct. That may have been because the stream is not usually very visable but today after all the heavy rain it was running through the aquaduct like a raging river. I had this one found very quickly but I had looked at the spoiler pictures before I left home.

Over the last couple of days I've grown to love the graceful curves of the leat as it follows the countours of the land, man made yet so in keeping with the landscape.
Thanks for the cache, and for bringing me here,
Rgds, Andy
