A wonderful walk in cracking weather, it's been a long time since I came here looking for a letterbox in the early 90's! Nice to admire the visa as half of Cornwall zooms past on the A30!

A bit of an adventure today, as my normal GPS (Garmin Nuvi 310) is away for repairs, so I have had to fall back on my Dell pocket PC and HTC phone. Not off to a good start as I had loaded all my waypoints to my Dell, only to find that it had "lost" them by the time I had gotten to Westmoorgate.
Fortunately my phone had the Opencaches stored in GDAK, but the compass for directions was all over the place. The cache was found eventually, but only after a bit of cussing I'll have to admit.
Poured out the water from the outer container and gave iot a bit of a dry. The inner container is a bit damp and the log book a bit soggy, but not bad consirdering the yer or so since the last log.

Now, how to get to Codda Tor from here.....

It was only when I went through the gate at the top that I realised I had been here before. Checking back, I see the cache I did up here was "The Beacon" also by Gribben. As with the rest today, the cache was not too difficult to find but the hard work really started from this point.
I had planned the route for today taking into account open Access land and footpaths. From here I headed down OA land to a footpath near Trezelland but when I got to a field corner it was obvious the landowner had bloked access big time. I found a way over but had to deal with two more blockages so I thought maybe the OS map may have been out of date. Checking with Cornwall CC rights of way I found out the path is supposed to be there so yet again I have reported a footpath on Bodmin Moor. Why are local landowners so anti walker?
Despite the hiccup at the end, I enyoyed the circuit around this part of the moor today. The views are stunning at times and visiting Brown Willy again was worth the acheing legs and wet feet.
