I was in the area picking up a few caches and was pleased to see that there were a couple of Opencaches in the area as well.  Bizarrely the one closest to this had been logged just yesterday after years of inactivity.  However this one had been left alone.  I ewent to the posted co ords and enjoyed teh history.  However the logging requirement was slightly more difficult.  The link does not take you where expected and it was only after some deductions using the PC (which I sometimes don't) that I worked out the required password.  This might explain why it has taken me 3 months to log.

Staying nearby we took the opportunity to look out this bit of local history. We parked by the gate and walked up the hill to the information board then onto the memorial.

Visited today on way home from mini hols at Bude, eventually found way in, took photo which is too large for upload at moment and still have to do research , thanks for bringing me here.

An impromptu and totally unplanned visit to this cache as I was in the area picking off a few geocaches.

My Garmin Nuvi sat naff only has text descriptions, so did not get a photo of the correct monument shown in the cache description pictures, but of the info plaque nearby.

CO has kndly allowed me to log the find, so I don't have to make a return trip. Thank you.

Visiting the area for a few hours and this site beckoned.  It's always nice to see a bit of local history and this cache certainly provided that>Many thanks, will upload photo asap, at the moment I need to find out how to do it!
