Awesome spot - well hidden away.  The lid is a little cracked but everything is bone dry inside.  A fantastic hiding place!

Just noticed my log for this cache must have been mislaid in the transfer, fortunately I have a record of it offline:

On an extended tour of England and Scotland in the campervan to pick up caches in "empty" counties, and I spotted these 2 nice looking opencaches not far from the M6.

This was a great location to find, tricky to find a way in, but not too tricky . And an excellent hiding place; this one isn't going to be muggled!

For the best caches I find I make a geocoin for the c/o, as a thank you, see http://www.amberel.com/topcache.htm for more details. This cache, together with its Cringlebarrow neighbour, earns one .

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

Has this cache really been here for five years and five months unfound?  Am I really the first to find it?  How can we make opencaching better known (or is it better kept as a secret?)

I wandered round the area trying to find a path to the top, and eventually approached in a straight pathless line up difficult terrain.  There are easier routes, as I discovered when I found my way back down.  This is a fascinating area and I suspect that the top is seldom visited.  I struggled to get here, and I struggled to find the cache, but Martlakes' hint helped.  This cache is well worth the effort to find, and is in surprisingly good (in fact pristine) condition after all these years.  I would like to give it some of my Geocaching favourite points, and can certainly recommend it to anyone who reads opencaching listings.  Thanks, Martlakes, for an excellent cache.
