Found stage 1 on a short detour from the DTTA series. On approach of GZ I was glad I had uploaded all the spoiler photos to my mobile. I still took quite a while to find the correct spot (should have trusted the GPS).

I then first checked other rocks. Eventually my hand found the cache. Using my hand not the stick as requested by CO. TFTC

My second visit to the first stage of this cache gave me coordinates for the opencache. I went a fairly direct route via couple of other caches I was seeking and arrived at a likely place to hide the final. I wasn't disappointed with what I found. TFTC

Wow, nobody else has logged this cache for 2.5 years! The geocaching.com cache has been logged many times in that period though. I found the 1st stage cache a week ago, but the coordinates for the opencache weren't legible, as the lamination had split and the paper was wet. The weather was turning for the worse that evening anyway, so I decided to leave the caches for another time. The CO was kind enough to send me another laminated sheet with coordinates for both the geocaching and opencaching caches, and these are now in the stage 1 cache. At stage 2 I spent quite a long time looking for the cache (I couldn't access the spoiler photo which would have helped). In the end I found it after looking in the same place I'd already looked several times, it was just tucked further away and was hidden behind bracken so my fault for not looking properly! Everything was all in perfect condition. TFTC.

Prior to attending the 2018 New years day event Ingrid and I spent the day finding some caches, it seems we are 3 years late on this one! wink

A blustery, showery day, we had no trouble locating the first part followed by a nice walk up to the cache, many thanks.

Our first Open Cache find, picked up after finding the sister cache published on another cache listing site. We had the co-ordinates for both caches so it made sense to grab them both.

TFTC.

Took a few minutes to find, just a case of my head being at the right angle. Nice view from this cache.

On a wet and windy day we revised our plans, and did a few "out and backs" in between the downpours. Visited this one again with dizzygirl and Wizbit100. All good here.

A lovely walk out here today, a bit hazy but warm, nice to visit this tor again, thanks for bringing us here.

Thanks, now might be getting the hang of this site, though it does seem complicated.

Good to be on Dartmoor for the first time this year, and good finally to find my first opencache of the year. I didn't quite understand how these "combined" caches worked, but do now Laughing.

We had the spoiler photos but struggled to relate them to what we found at stage 1 - even after I had found it. Just goes to show that even a spoiler photo doesn't always make for an easy find.

Then factotem found the final. so a joint effort on this oneLaughing.

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

I must say I really like the spoiler photo feature on this site. I wish that other lot would do the same ;-). However looking at the spoiler photo reminds me that I did not use it but saw the tiniest bit of the cache visible.

Time we had arrived here the sun was trying to come out. Quickly found . Would love to have seen all the mine workings of the opposite valley in their heyday.tftc

Our fifth tor complete and also our final tor for today. We now had all the clues for the bonus but once we saw where it was, we knew we didn't have time today. Plus we were already an hour late for the cream tea event! Signed the log as Bearded + The Beast.

Many thanks again for setting the series, it will be a New Years Day to remember!

Our final cache of the day. As usual when we're in Devon we team up with Bearded and the Beast (aka Beastass). We were running late for the 2015 Cream Tea Event so did not have time for the bonus. As they say in the Terminator, We'll be back!

Thank's for this series. Despite the weather we really enjoyed the challenges.

[:D] FTF [:D] Yay! Our first opencache. Misty on top today but did get a glimpse of the valley when the mist cleared for a few minutes. TFTC

Found this whilst undertaking Dartmoor Dave's 2015 Challenge caches, only recorded this for this reason, and wouldnt normally bother with opencaching; its a bit like VHS v Bettamax !
