Came to chedworth today specifically to bag these open caches.

With the added bonus of an explore of the abandoned airfield, a fossil hunt and snail hunt for the boy, and even the odd geocache too, all in all a day of adventure.

We started our work at the church in chedworth followed the geocache trail for a short distance, found plenty of fossils, no snails though.

Back at car I headed off to obtain what was needed here, as look would have it I was planning on setting a cache using the same technique so getting what was required was starting forward enough. Got info required, this is when my phone died aargh, so we couldn't go for the other cache here.

Amy was bored of waiting for me and wasn't up for the explore of the airfield by this point so we left a little more empty handed .

Reading the previous log I'm fascinated to see other cache types within this area. So I will be back for sure to bag a few more.

Thanks for the cache and a great idea. Lovely village location to walk through.

Cheers for the cache.

A fellow cacher said “When in a single day I find geocaches from more than just one listing service I consider that day a great geocaching day. And when it happens that they are all of a different geocache type I consider I just had a perfect geocaching day as I was able to experience the full variety of geocaching.” With that in mind he set the following challenge as a cyber cache (CC8F45 Perfect Geocaching Day) on Terracaching.com:

You must find geocaches from at least 5 different geocache listing services and they all must be of a different geocache type and all that in a single day.

Today was my day to attempt that challenge. By the end of the day I had found 10 caches of 8 different types on 6 listing sites from the largest Geocaching.com to one of the smallest Cotswold Caching.

The day to date had gone:

GC468RA Church Micro 3358…Abbey Hill groundspeak multicache

GA10654 The perfect Geocaching day event   geocaching.com.au event cache

TC43IY Bottle of vintage TC (Terracaching Cider)   terracaching moving cache

GA1825 Cachemobile geocaching.com.au locationless cache.

TC2VGP RAF Chedworth Terracaching.com offset/letterbox cache

GE0324 RAF geocaching.gpsgames.org Traditional cache

OK034F tenses.buildings.bonus opencache.uk puzzle cache

RAF Chedworth Cotswold Caching multicache

Unlike the previous cachers I like a virtual cache, at least there is a better than average chance of finding it!smile Although we had achieved our aims of being able to log the Terracaching Cyber we couldn't leave Chedworth without a quick stop off to get the CC for the virtual. So driving back along the road we came across a location we had passed earlier in the day. Parking the car nearby we hopped out for a few photos and to grab the necessary to log the cache. It was then off to kitten.conspire.workflow as recommended for an educational and interesting look around and a spot of lunch before continuing on our journey to Dorset. Thanks for all the caches Gackt. Much appreciated

Just like abanazar, I'm afraid I don't get very excited by virtuals - but as I had travelled so far for the nearby trad, and the TerraCache "letterbox", I had to do this as well Wink.

Seems like a very prosperous little community!

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

Having just found the “bonus” cache, I thought it would be rude not come to this one as well. I duly found the required information and returned to my car. Sorry, but to be honest I still haven’t been converted to virtuals. But the “bonus” cache and also the terracache in the area more than makes up for it! Thanks for the puzzle, which was an interesting find in itself.

Had I not come to this cache, however, then I would not have experienced my probable highlight of the day. As I drove back along the lane, I had a clear sighting of a stoat jumping into the verge. I know it was a stoat because I noted the black tip of its tail, and the internet tells me that distinguishes a stoat from a weasel (as well as the animal’s overall size, but in isolation that wasn’t so easy for me). A fantastic spot!
