As I was passing this cache today I thought i would try to find it and move it on. Cache easily found with the spoiler but unfortunately i'm not allowed to log a find on my own cache. Moved to a new spot on Lower White Tor.

It seems I have to post a found as well as a move for it to appear in my found it list. I'm still trying to get the hang of this website, apologies for the logs out of order!

A nice easy find, although the boggy ground doesn't make for the easiest walking.

The cache has been resited, to the left of the rucksack in the spoiler photo - if I can work out how to upload it!

Correcting the east/west anomaly

Relocated to a nice spot overlooking the West Dart valley and not far from a good path

I was on Lower White Tor looking for a cache and decided to head over here given it wasn't too far away. Nobody else has sought this cache for over two years now so I opted to give it a new home. My approach to this cache involves traversing the wettest terrain of the day so far, I have discovered my boots have a split in them so a replacement pair will be needed before winter comes.

I didn't have (or need) any of the spoiler photos, the cache was easily found despite being tucked away safe and well. The new location will feature in my next log. TFTC

Finally!  We got to this cache before it moved again ;)

When does a hobby become an obsession (I've asked myself this before)  This time its when you have 38 feeder caches down, you can smell the end in sight, the weather becomes almost prohibitly too hot to walk so you get up at 3:45am just to get out onto Dartmoor before 6am and the temperature starts to rise?  Yes I guess so! (alarm was set for later but well, no-one was sleeping (too excited) so just got up).

This cache was the main aim of the day, found at Higher White Tor and placed again well before 8am, and continuing on our way.  Overall we managed seven new caches found, over 10 miles before early afternoon and even fit in an ice-cream at Postbridge.  All in all an excellent day.

Oh dear - a most basic error - but one which is the whole point of such caches and therefore (in retrospect) quite fun!

 

We arrived at (supposed) GZ.

We found some likely hiding places and had a good search about but no cache became apparent.  It is now nearly the end of a long day on the moors and the sun was beating down and the flies pestering and we were frustrated!

 

We began to think the cache had been moved from the co-ords we had picked up from the website a couple of months ago, or perhaps DJ’s coordinates are the most recent - if so that’s 3 miles away and not for us today. At the time we thought all unlikely, we had double checked the position a few months back and I had been "watching" the cache for any changes ever since.  Or thought I was.

 

Anyway, we left empty handed and, sure enough, all was explained when we got back home.  The cache HAS been moved - recently since we were last caching, and probably the moving email was not read properly as it would have been in amongst all the other holiday emails! 

So we have another day out on the moors to plan to pick this one up.  We surely will keep a better look-out for it from now on!

Surprised this one has not been moved on. Out this one on a warm and sunny day did not take us long to find - the hint was good. Will take with us and site later in the day.

Back on the North Moor after a minor delay.

Mr Bb was on a walk of just over 12 miles from Batworthy Corner on a cold day, which started fine and dry but deteriorated in the afternoon with some sleet turning to snow by the end of the walk at 18:15.

I took a short detour from my planned walk to look for this cache and was pleased to find it after a brief search.

Apologies that I hadn't read the cache page in advance and have removed the cache from the moor rather than dropping it off the same day.

I tried to find this cache a while ago at the co-ordinates posted by dave.johnson - presumably between October 2015 and November 2016, but not sure exactly when because I've misplaced my notes. However, note that there were just two previous finders since the cache was published, and no attempt to find it since it was re-activated almost a year ago, so hope that removing it from the moor will not be too much of a problem.

N.B. The cache is NOT in the middle of Meldon Reservoir - these are holding co-ordinates until we have a chance to place the cache on the North Moor, in the next few days at the latest.

This cache has now been checked and is ready to be found once more.  It has just been pushed into a convenient hole and is not difficult to find.

Found fairly quick, as it happens I was heading here for a letterbox which turned out to be located 18m away!

Well we were not going to leave this one, having got to this area. It was a b---! To get to, and our second time to this area in this quest. A lovely place to stop and have lunch in the sun and out of the wind. Both decided the cache should stay in situ, can't find a nicer place and why make it easier for the next visitor. Thank you for the coin, our second, will think about where to put them some time soon.
