Found log.  But no cache even after extensive search.  Cool pond tho

A large group of people were cutting plants and tidying up things, so I checked the hint to see if I could sneak in unnoticed.  No such luck, the only hint items I could see were right at the centre of the group.

Will have to come back another day.  Hope that they didn't disturb the cache!
