It had been my intention to move this cache to another spot today but my route took me through terrain not very suitable for placing a cache.  I have therefore temporarily removed this cache from the moor and will replace it as soon as I can.

Found this one today as there was a geocoin in it that I wanted, not sure why it was in an Opencache rather than a geocache which was a pain. Will move on soon,

Myself and NSCR were out for a long overdue walk on the Moor. We arrived in the snow and left in the sunlight.

It took a while to recover this as it was fully submerged under the icy water.

Unsurprisingly all of the contents were bone dry. These containers are bomb proof.

We had intended to move this further onto the Moor, but the weather and a few DNFS have meant that we have changed our plans.

Today Dixie Gooner and I have made a plan to go for a stomp on the Moor. We wanted to get to Fur Tor but the snow and the water levels put pay to that so we decided to just try our best to clear this little area instead.

We left this one where it was as we are struggling with the weather.

Thanks Dartmoor Dave for the cache!

Despite being in its current place for more than 2 years without a find, the cache and the log book are in perfect condition! I have left it in its current position. TFTC.

This was the cache that tempted me to add about 1.5 miles on to my walk this afternoon. Having recently found the equivalent on the south moor it was good to complete the double a few weeks apart. The cache has a new location and photo which will appear in my next log. TFTC

What a wonderful day for a walk out here today.  We took the day off, the sun was shining and we set off from Two Bridges up past Wistman's Wood and on to Crow Tor for a coffee.  We felt as if we had the moors to ourselves, we met only  a couple of letterboxers early on.  Soon reached "The Man" then headed down to the cache - no-one about - or so we thought!  Thank goodness for the spoiler as the GPS was a bit all over the place - but cache was soon in hand.  Imagine our surprise to see that two cachers had beaten us to it today already!  But despite looking all around - no sign of them out here.  They must have been up early - but thank goodness they did not choose to move the cache!

However, this is supposed to be a moving cache and so we thought we would do our duty and take the opportunity to move it. We left the coin in place but moved the cache to some new co-ordinates - not so very far away.  This because its such a lovely area to visit - we though it was already in a good place for SODTOO-ers like ourselves to come.

Thanks for the cache.  New co-ordinates are: 50°35.829'N, 3°59.197'W - an average of the two readings we took.

[Had a bit of trouble addding the correct co-ordinates - it kept defaulting back to an Easting.  So I have NOT moved it as far as it implies above but the co-ordinates are now correct - finally...]

Found after a brief search on a fine and breezy afternoon.

Signed the log but left the cache in situ because we are coming to the end of our current break on Dartmoor.

Apologies for the extremely late log - making a determined effort to rectify our lax logging on Opencaches, using geocache logs from our aging Garmin and photographs from our archives if available.

TFTC.

Thanks.  Exciting trip! Zero visability, which we are kind of use to.
