Today was Day 19 of my walk along the Norths Down Way from Farnham to Dover; this time a short though pleasant walk from Chartham to Canterbury.

This is an unusual war memorial in that it lists only events rather than the names of the fallen (the much larger memorial 50m away by the cathedral entrance serves that purpose splendidly). Nevertheless, the understated nature of this memorial, and its reminder of events other than the two World Wars, serve as a tribute.

Cache found after a big event nearby.

We visited this pretty city of Canterbury and I noticed this cache, so I was keen to do a detour.

Always great to give a moment in order to think about those who lost their life during this terrible war.
