Opis EN

It is most regrettable that The Royal Parks have now confirmed that thay have banned geocaching anywhere within their parks. I should therefore make it clear that while you need to visit King Henry VIII's Mound in Richmond Park to collect the co-ordinates for the cache, the cache is not hidden in Richmond Park but in the adjacent Petersham Park.

For both latitude and longitude, only the last 3 digits differ from those on the cache page, i.e. the co-ordinates of the cache are N51 26.yyy W000 17.xxx

For the last 3 digits of latitude you need to find the distance in miles to Runnymede, Windsor Castle, Strawberry Hill and St. Paul's Cathedral, add them together and multiply by 3. Then add the last 3 digits of Euroscope's phone number.

For the last 3 digits of longitude you should find a year associated with James Thomson, and subtract 1000.

Once you have the co-ordinates of the cache you need to make your way into Petersham Park. If you are not familiar with this location, the direction you take from King Henry VIII's Mound is not immediately obvious :-)

Before you leave, and if the visibility is reasonable, don't forget to look at St. Paul's "through the keyhole". This view of the cathedral, plus "one and a half dome widths" on each side, is protected by an act of Parliament - no building may be errected to obstruct it.

There is convenient parking at Pembroke Lodge, only a short walk from King Henry VIII's Mound at N51 26.580 W000 17.598, where there are public conveniences and refreshment facilities. Note that Richmond Park is closed to vehicles at night. The closing time varies from 16:00 in early winter to 21:00 in early summer. If you visit in the evening you should check the closing time, which is available on the internet and is posted on the entrance gates.

The small plastic clip-top container is one I took from a cache by Gribben in the West Country. It is very well painted in camouflage paint, and while it is just sitting on the ground, uncovered, it is very difficult to see. You are strongly advised to take a copy of the spoiler photo. The hint tells you where the cache is in relation to this photograph.

Summary:
