This cache is hidden across the road from the south gates of Arniston House. This place is called The Cougar Gates because there are two crouched and snarling cougars perched on top of the gateposts. They were originally erected in 1766 for a house on Nicholson Street in Edinburgh. These gates are dated 1824, but this is to commemorate the date when they were brought to their new home.
Please do not park on the B6372, as this is a busy road. There is easy parking close to the cache on the quiet road across from the gates. There are nettles along the edge of the woodland, but the woods themselves seem to be nettle free.
It was difficult to get a good reading in the trees, so the clue is very specific.
