The purpose of the “Lest we forget….” series is to take a moment out of our busy lives to remember those who fell fighting for our country. This series, started by ‘Bearded Zombie’, is exclusive to Opencaching.uk
This memorial is made of Portland stone dating from circa 1920. It has 2 steps with a square plinth and tapering shaft. There is a small hipped stone-tiled rooflet with bracketted eaves and a cross to the east. There is also a relief of St George and Dragon on top of the shaft. This memorial is Grade II listed and stands at the entrance of the High Street.
