This visit to Higher White Tor involves a round trip of about four & a half miles, mostly over open moorland.
Parking is available at "Two Bridges" - N50` 33.517 W003` 57.889. Pass through the gate at the back of the car park and follow the path towards Wistman`s Wood . This is a small area of old stunted oak trees growing among the boulders & thick with lichen. Continue right, climbing up the hill towards the big tor on the skyline (Longaford Tor). There are great views from here on a clear day. Follow the path along the top towards the next tor and the cache. This makes a round trip of about 5 miles, a slightly shorter alternative is via Crockern Tor following the path north. Ordnance Survey map "OL 28" is recommended for any route planning in this area.
