I came out to have a look at the sea condition, with a view to paddleboarding from Old Town to Porthcressa but decided that it was a bit too windy.  I couldn't see the crocodile rock but maybe the tide was wrong at this time.

Went down to get stage one of the Piper’s Hole Virtual cache and took this photo on the way!

Mrs Spacebat and I had been to Tresco and returned on the 2.30 boat, so we had some time to spend on St Mary's once we were back on dry land..l Mrs S went off into town to spend an unspecified amount of money while I went off to Peninnis head to wear off a little more rubber from the soles of my walking boots!
I'd been down to the entrance of Piper's Hole once before, so knew how to get there without breaking any bones. I have never noticed the resemblance of the rock to a crocodile, but it's obvious when you are there, and a knobbly old crocodile it is, to be sure!
Requisite selfie photo attached, plus one of the inside of the cave, as Icouldn'tresist going inside!

We had wandered all over all of the islands for a good week abs seen so much spectacular scenery, I love the drama of the rocks with the sandy bays with the waves crashing as they did so frequently.  We actually came here to enter Piper’s Hole, an entire adventure on its own.  Seeing the crocodile wasn’t so difficult for me and I was happy to take my selfie ‘snap’. Loved the rocks here, thanks for the experience. Never smile at a crocodile

A few days ago we visited Piper's Hole, now we are back again this evening ;-)

I've looked for several mimeolith caches before, but generally have had little success in dialling in to what the c/o has seen - so it wasn't altogether suprising that I didn't immediately "see" the crocodile.

Once he was pointed out to me I could pick up the eyes - but only the eyes, and I was seeing it "back to front". Once we went back a little further, up the hill and away from Piper's Hole, then I picked up the snout too:-)The photo is from the second location :-)
