Decided that we would take a sroll around here today.  Left Whitchurch just before 9.00 so Cox Tor carpark was reasonably empty.  On our return, it was packed.  A bright sunny and breezy day, and we were glad of the layers when we reached this side of the tor.  A great cache easily found thankyou.  We did some checking of our official Geocaches whilst here, and sussed out another idea that has been in our mind.

I think I must be completely losing it! I had no recollection of having already found this cache so on a lovely June day Judy and I decided to take the dogs and find the 2 opencaches on Roos Tor.  As soon as I opened the cache I realised that not only had I found it but that I had stamped it with my letterboxing stamp. We had found this cache 2 and a half years ago whilst letterboxing nearby. Pleased to say that the cache is still in pristine condition.

Not too hard a find on a long walk across the moor.

I had the day off work today and a plan was formulated to go caching with Smithy138 and Mr NSCR. I wasnt quite free as a bird as I had a social engagement this evening, so had to ensure that wherever we went, we could be back in time. Firstly Smithy suggested Cox Tor, then NSCR suggested Roos Tor. What an excellent choice. there was also the chance of a small diversion for a FTF. It was a great time of the year to do this as I have never known the moor to be so dry and we managed to push our luck as we walked through some of the more boggy areas.

This was a nice detour to find this one.  In fact I think it was Smithy who found it and he doesn't even have an Opencaching account as yet.

Found without difficulty while completing the Roos Tor Ramble listed on the mainstream website.

Apologies for the very late log - making a determined effort to rectify our lax logging of Opencaches.

For some reason I can't explain, when I recently placed a large series of GC caches on Roos Tor it never occurred to me to find the opencaches which were also on the tor and had been for many years. However, a couple of months later Judy and I decided to complete a nearby letterboxing series so we came on to find the opencaches as well. As always with a Gribben cache this was in pristine condition and looked as though it had only recently been placed. Many thanks indeed for placing this cache.

I hppened to be in the area today caching, and this was the first of two opencaches on my list.  It's been many years since I last visited Roos Tor.  After walking across the moorland towards GZ, I arrived, and after a few minutes searching I noticed the tell tale sign of camo.  I had a quick look and sure enough the cache was found.  The log was signed and the container returned.  This cache is in excellent condition, almost like brand new!

Completing the Roos Tor Ramble series today, and as this one was perfectly on my route, I couldn't not stop off to find it. Soon found, thanks for the cache in a great place, very picturesque on a snowy day like today.

I do not usually set out to find opencaches but I will always have a look if I am passing one. This was the case here today and it was much easier to locate this one than the other nearby. Thanks for bringing me here!

This one has been on my to do list for such a long time, today I actually had chance to make a visit. It was great to find such an old cache in fantastic condition with original log and signatures. Many thanks for the cache.. the only thing that could of improved the visit would of been to find one of your Pathtags.. cheers

Found while letterboxing in the area, lovely weather for walking on the last day before firing starts again.  August seems to go so quickly!

Making a return visit to this one while Opencaching in the area, pity I couldn't remember the hide from my T/C visit or I would have found this one a lot more quickly than I did.  |Thanks for the cache and the exercise.

We fancied a walk on the moor this evening so brought Roxy along for her walk as well. The walk across was fine but we could see fog patches covering some of the other tors and we just managed to reach and find the cache before we too were enveloped in a thick fog.

Even though I had found this one before and thought I knew where it was, it was Mrs S who found it first. It took us a few minutes of searching too, it is well hidden but that is just as well really.

The walk back in the fog was surprisingly warm and was actually very pleasant. We went from here to the Plume at Princetown for a quick pint and Roxy had her supper from the special "doggy" menu they have there.

Thanks for a very enjoyable evening and another good Opencache.

Another great Gribben cache, top class container in a superb location.

This was a cache I meant to do last year, but ran out of time. This year I combined it with OpenCaches on Cox Tor and Brentorboxer's nearby Bedford Stones.

Another Amberel TOP CACHE award for this one.

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy
