Not going very far today because of the poor road conditions.. snow and ice, so just a little close by cache maintenance. Once I dug through the snow, found this one all safe and well.

Pleased to see that this site has been resurrected so thought I should get out and try and find some of the local caches to me.  Found the location and hint object easily enough but in the year since this was last logged the grass has grown up around it. Started feeling around and removed some of the other detritus (bottles and cans) which were also there but had to stop to put some gloves on due to nasty little stingers. Took ages to find the right spot  - the cache seemed to have pushed a long way under and I removed a number of rocks before I eventually laid my hands on it.  The cache is in excellent condition and I'm delighted to restart my Opencaching with this one.  TFTC

Checked on this one today. All is well.

This was to be my last find of the day. I must admit I was mainly heading to this cache to pick up the geokret, which I read about last night. I should be able to drop it into a fitting Opencache in the near future.

While I was waiting for the path to clear of dog walkers, I tried out my new smartphone instead of my GPSr. My phone worked (my old smartphone was terrible and could never locate any satellites, but it was cheap!). It took me to a nearby Groundspeak cache for my first smartphone find. I kind of wished I hadn’t bothered though: it was a sorry little micro well past its best-by date. This Opencache, once I’d carefully retrieved it without a single sting(!), was a far more pleasant find. Thanks for the cache - one of several Gackt caches for me today!

I suffered for this one. The hint item is completely buried in dense vegetation, mostly nettles, and my hands got completed covered in stings. But having travelled this far to get it ... Smile

I saw the red torch in the cache and thought it was a swap item, didn't realise it was a geokret, so I didn't pick it up, sorry Frown.

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy
