The walk from the car park was a bit boggy in places, but the area around the cache is beautiful.

I hadn't realised so many people had already found this one, but I'm delighted that they have .

As the previous finder reports, the bag is somewhat tattered. Lord Darcy used to use exactly the same bags as these, and they too were always in pieces. Either the wildlife is greatly attracted to them, or they are  bio-degradable .

Thanks for the cache,

Regards, Andy

I had been in this neck of the woods recently for another cache which ended in a DNF but as the CO had kindly replaced it I thought another trip out here was a good idea. As it was lovely weather (17degrees) I decided to add on this opencache to extend the walk across the open forest heath. A lot of recent rain has left the tracks full of puddles. I was glad of the wellies! About 2.5k from the car park at Telegraph Hill, but I took a longer off piste trek back through the forest with plenty of ponies around and birds singing... was that really an owl in daylight? No deer though.

The cache box is in good shape, but the bag has been attacked! A lovely view to enjoy while sitting, perusing the goodies (TN) and signing the log. Replaced and covered, though the bracken will be doing that soon enough. Thanks DP for another excellent reason to get off the sofa and enjoy our wonderful countryside. B

This was my main reason for visiting the area today not realizing that pesky Oscar had already found it;)I had a lovely walk around the area picking up other caches along the way and ended up walking just shy of four miles from car to car. I thoroughly enjoyed the walk and the peace as I didn't see a soul all the way round so I thought to myself I must do this a bit more often. The cache itself is nicely stocked and hidden away so once signed and replaced I headed off to pick up one more cache before heading back to the car.

First to Find and my first Opencache

It's been a while since I've cached in the New Forest, so this seemed the ideal opportunity and a DizzyPair cache is always good value.

The car park is one I've used on several occasions and before I set off on the walk I had a chat with a lady who had put out some bird food which was attracting lots of wild birds - blue tits, coal tits, nuthatches and a robin or 2.

The walk took me through unfamiliar territory, but I didn't see another person until the walk back.  There were some boggy bits amongst the fallen leaves, but a walking pole is always handy in these situations.  I saw deer tracks and later on a deer between the trees and lots of birds.

I hunted round a bit at GZ as the well-stocked cache was well-hidden ( I really should remember to bring some swaps with me). Once the paperwork had been done I found a handy stump nearby and took some time out before making my way back.

All in all a lovely walk in an unexplored part of the New Forest.

Thanks very much for placing this cache, DizzyPair
