Logged on 23/08/2009 after having been found earlier in the month.

This was the start of a two day TerraCaching trip to Leominster and points north, and I opened my front door to a very grey dawn. And as I walked round to the shed where I keep my motor-bike I felt a spot or two of rain.

Never mind, the forecast was good, so I wouldn't bother with my full wet gear; as long as I keep moving the windscreen keeps the worst off. But by the time I had stowed my bags it was raining quite hard. I set off, and before I reached the end of the road it was torrential! Full wet gear WAS required.

It was so heavy going round the M25 that I couldn't even see the lane markings, and it didn't ease up at all until I was well past Oxford.

Frankly, I needn't have bothered with the wet gear, for all the good it did. I stopped to do a Groundspeak cache at Chipping Norton, took off my sodden gloves and the water streamed out of my sleeves. And it had soaked down my neck. This was the wettest I've been on a bike for years!

But eventually the rain stopped and the sun came out. I was starting to dry out, but was still a pretty damp and uncomfortable cacher when I arrived here. First things first; before going to look for the cache I was able to hang up my motor-cycle gear to dry in the sun, change my shirt and sit down in that lovely sunshine for the eponymous cuppa.

Feeling reinvigorated after my rest and refreshment, the cache was no problem. Signed the log, took nothing, and left one of my signature torches.

Thanks for a super cache,

Rgds, Andy
