Well this is our first ever Open Cache find Smile. In fact, I first spotted this fleetingly as a Terracache, but then it disappeared on me! I was relieved to discover Open Caching sometime later, and all made sense! Actually this Open Cache was a key reason that we plumped for this area today for a Christmas-time family cache hunt, and how lucky we were! We thoroughly enjoyed this cache and its GC neighbours. With the recent snow and the thousands of conifers here, we felt we were in Somerset's own Lapland! We barely saw another soul and we had a truly magical time. It wasn't long before we were humming "Winter Wonderland" as we hiked around the woods!

We also had a wonderful bonus as we worked our way towards this cache. At about N 51 15.650 W 02 38.349 we found a real-life Christmas tree -- decorated and all Cool. Given the snow, the surroundings, and our already festive mood, this was a magical moment! I don't know The Christmas Elves who are responsible for this, but it was fantastic!

We approached the cache site with a little trepidation -- would the snow covering make the site too featureless for a find? We needed the clue I'm afraid, and even then it was a question of "which white things match that and which don't?" Fortunately, Mr A's geo-sense was working today and we found it after a few minutes. All was reasonable considering it had been so long since the last log in the summer. It was still well hidden. The container contained some water, but the baggie inside had kept the contents  dry. We gave everything a good dry with tissues, and Abanazar #1 and #2 Sons both had a little trade. We rehid as best we could, and hopefully when the snow goes and the landscape returns to normality, our disturbance will blend back in again.

Thanks for this cache in a really nice wooded area. We are really pleased that we've got off the mark (just about) in a couple of the less-mainstream Caching projects now. Unfortunately there aren't too many more OCs in our immediate locality (I suppose I know what I have to do about that Wink).

TFTC and best regards,

Abanazar and family.
