2428 2012-09-28 17:30 Amberel (user activity610) - Found it

After our 3 day caching holiday in Pembrokeshire we were heading back home to Surrey in the campervan. This was a great little cache to break the journey, and even though we arrived at 17:30 we were very lucky not to hit any traffic driving into or out of the town.

An excellent parking spot and a really lovely park, it was hard to realise we were so close to town. Interesting industrial remains - we deduced that they were a smelting plant of some sort, with the ramp to take the ore to the top, openings at the bottom for the draught and for the fire to be tended, and with clinker and slag all around. Had a Google when we got back and found it was for smelting copper.

Soon found the obvious hole - so obvious that I feared in the 9 months since the last find it might have attracted muggle attention, but no, it was still there, very well hidden inside.

Last cache in Wales for this trip, and it was nice to finish with a real one, albeit only a micro, rather than a virtual.

Thanks for the cache, and for bringing us to this interesting park,

Rgds, Andy
