I would also like to thank Spannerman for permitting retrospective logging of this cache, even more so because I understand he doesn't retrospectively log his own finds. While logging the find on a freezing cold February day, I found this cache when it was a TerraCache, in late summer last year, and logging it here brought back happy memories of a very enjoyable trip.

I had failed to read the cache pages sufficiently carefully, nor did I study the map as closely as I might have done. This resulted in quite a surprise as I walked from the Millenium Marker TerraCache until my GPSr registered just 6 feet, only to find that those 6 feet were not at all what they first appeared to be!

It had been drizzling all day long, and the ground was sodden. I looked at the direct route and decided it was just too slippery, so I returned to the Millenium Marker and found a safer route down. Even that wasn't straightforward, as the path by the river has some missing sections that require considerable agility to pass.

But eventually I got where I wanted to be. It didn't take long to work out where to look, and it didn't take long to find the cache.

But regrettably that is the end of the good news - a muggle had also found the cache since the previous cacher's visit, and taken everything. They had left the cache partly hidden, but very wet inside. Apart from the water it contained a very soggy piece of paper with the words "Thanks for the stuff" scrawled on it. Nothing else .

Luckily I carry a bar towel, and so was able to clean and dry the container. I found an approx. A5 piece of clean paper and made up a new log book. And I left the only swag I had left in my back-pack, a stationery set. So the cache is now back in reasonable working order again, but we have to hope the same people don't come back and do it again .

This was a slightly disappointing end to what was a superb cache. I loved the juxtaposition of these two caches, so near yet so far away. I (perversly) really enjoyed that moment when I realised that actually, it wasn't going to be quite as easy as I thought . I loved the location, and the spectacular views as I made my way back to Plym Bridge by the "low road".

Despite the problems, this was my favourite cache of the day - so good that I "spent" one of my carefully hoarded OC recommendations (we get only one per 10 finds) . Thanks for setting it.
