The problem with being married to a muggle is that the spouse tends to lose patience when a walk turns into a 'standing around while he ferrets about in the hedges'.

Today it was agreed that I could look for the two new caches just south of Leicester provided we also had a cache-free walk. We missed the turn into Lane on our way south and decided to do the walk first. We're doing the Leicester Round in (short) stages. Today we went to where we stopped last time near Fleckney and walked on to Shearsby and Bruntingthorpe, circling back via Arnesby. No doubt we walked past caches, but I had not downloaded them to my GPSr so I wasn't tempted.

The relevant point about all this is that as we walked from Bruntingthorpe towards Arnesby we saw a hare. It was the closest I have ever been to a hare, the wind was strong and was presumably blowing our smell and sound away. The hare was trotting (lolloping?) the other way along the path, so we stood still and s/he was quite oblivious to us until only two metres away. Magical! Hares are so lovely. It was comical to see the double take, 'strewth, people!', followed by a *very* rapid departure.

I took this to be a good omen for finding this 'harey' cache later.

So, although we had had by our standards of (un)fitness a good walk around Shearsby, I decided I must come to this cache today, even though a hot shower was tempting. Mrs112358 stayed in the car listening to Radio 3 while I added a couple of miles to the day's tally by coming here.

The hint item may not have grown so much, but the nettles and brambles are shooting up. Fortunately I had my gloves to hand (and on hand) so the cache was found without too many punctures.

All is well with the cache. The nice new log was signed and the cache returned as found without anyone around to see.

First to find {FTF} at 1720.

Thanks for the cache.
