457 2010-04-15 00:00 Amberel (user activity611) - Found it

I was faced with a dilemma. A Thames-side cache such as this is a jewel I like to reserve for when I'm boating. While personal responsibilities have prevented me from venturing this far up the river for the last couple of years, it seemed an opportunity might present itself in a couple of months. But if we come here or not depends on how Mrs. Amberel chooses we should spend our holiday - on the boat or doing something else.

But goodness knows how long it will be before Mrs. Amberel makes up her mind Surprised , so I decided to do the cache today Smile .

No trouble parking the motor-bike by the roadside today, it was almost empty. The first arch was easy to find, and proved to have an affinity with me in several ways Smile . And the notice board was in the expected place, so that too was straightforward.

After that it was a pleasant walk by the river, past the Blue School, where I have moored overnight in the past.

I was fortunate to have a sunny morning, but there was a cold breeze - maybe more than a breeze, it was blowing wind over current, and strong enough to raise whitecaps on the waves.

And so to GZ. I had an idea of what I was looking for, but it was open to some interpretation and I looked for quite a long time before coming up trumps. I've hidden it again just as it was Smile .

Thanks for a super cache, and a hide that was very tricky but not impossible.

Rgds, Andy
