I had great difficulty getting to this one. The cache page for #6 has since been modified to show the start of Hawthorndale Lane, but I didn't have the benefit of this, and neither the 25,000 nor 50,000 OS maps that I carry show any sign of it. Consequently I rode my bike along the main road until I reached the boarded up cottage, where my GPSr pointed 90 feet across the gated and padlocked cottage grounds.
At this point I was still completely unaware of the existence of Hawthorndale Lane - it wasn't at all obvious that there was a bridleway at the other side of the grounds.
It looked like there may have been an overgrown path to the north of the cottage grounds, and I battled my way through dense thorns until I concluded there was no way through there. Finally I carried on up the road to see if there was any other way round the back of the cottage, whereupon I found the other end of Hawthorndale Lane, and thence the cache.
TBH, I'm a bit peeved with the OS for not showing this path!
Once I reached GZ, the cache was a quick find!
