Description
EN
This cache is to be found in the Hatchford Wood area of Ockham Common, near the slightly odd "Temple of Sleep" which you can see if you go a little up the hill from the cache location.
It is a traditional cache but finding it may be quite tricky - it is in fairly dense undergrowth, in what with my very limited horticultural knowledge I believe to be rhododendrons, and on a slope. And it is carefully hidden. The heavy leaf cover may make GPS reception difficult.
You are looking for a tree of approx 2 feet diameter, situated where a very gentle slope becomes rather steeper. 3 or 4 feet down the slope from this tree, a smaller one with 3 or 4 trunks grows out of the ground, and almost immediately one of the trunks follows the contour of the ground down the hill. The cache is hidden in a hollow by the base of this smaller tree, covered with leaf litter.
There is also a TerraCache on Ockham Common.
Free parking is available at N51 19.004 W000 27.252, where there is a small cafe and public conveniences. Further parking is available at N51 18.838 W000 27.137, and access is possible via a footbridge over the M25 at N51 18.958 W000 25.992
