THIS IS NOT LISTED ON ANY OTHER GEOCACHING SITE
The cache is a double potted container about 16m up a tree.
You'll need climbing equipment to reach it.
As there are four schools in the nearby village you may find parking easier, and have fewer spectators, outside of school run times (8-9, 15-16).
There are two groundspeak-listed climbing caches within 200m of here.
The flag of Saint George may be fluttering near the cache.
Saint George is the patron saint of England. His day is 23rd April, hence the cache title.
In the medieval stories, the lance with which Saint George killed the dragon was called Ascalon after the city of Ashkelon in Israel. The name Ascalon was used by Winston Churchill for his personal aircraft during World War II.
I cycle down the path cutting through this small patch of wooodland every weekday. A pair of tween boys on bikes stopped to watch me climb. I wondered whether any of the drivers noticed me. In leafier times you will be mostly out of sight. Reflective tape added to aid any climbers attempting after daylight.
