We decided we had been sat around for long enough, stuffing our faces with cake and choccies, so decided we needed a walk, which could then be topped off with standing around scoffing cake and choccies. Perfect!:D:D :D

So, after conferring with Hal-an-tow, we worked out what the new Covid regulations were to make sure we were compliant and met up for a cold walk across muddy fields. Once again we were very lucky with the weather and the clouds cleared to show lovely blue sky. April the geohound was extremely happy to be off the lead, running circles around us at Mach 2, strafing us with mud splatters as she raced by.

Hal-an-tow had brought along a swirly frisbee type throw thing for April, but despite many attempts, we only got some interest from April before the interesting sniffs called her away again. At one point we did have to retrieve it from down a steep sided river/ditch when it took a rather erratic flight path. This was only achieved by Naslan using my crutch as a pokey retrieval stick and me holding onto him so he did not fall in.....! :D

On route to the cache, we spotted a Kestrel, but no Hares. I clocked the type of hint we needed, but had not read some of the main caching page notes, so initially looked in the wrong place, before realising it was actually very well hidden, but in full view as it's currently winter:DA very careful retrieval gave us a dry cache log which was quickly signed and replaced.

Thanks Hal-an-tow for the cache and the walk :D

Had another look today, couldn't see the original pot so left a black bison tube tied to the tree instead: beware of the brambles as you reach through !

I was walking past here today and didn't find my own cache , how embarrassing !

It may actually be there somewhere, but I didn't have my thornproof gloves with me so couldn't thoroughly investigate the brambles which have grown around the tree.

It may be worth searching for if you happen to pass by before I return properly armoured, but I don't want any disappointing opencachers !

I was out for a cache checking walk : this pot is fine, altho'  since I hid it the few saplings beside the trail at GZ  have become a mini copse !

After a mini-tour of the Nottingham area for a few days in my campervan I just had time to squeeze in these caches before heading south to St Albans to meet friends for lunch. A quick find here, and nice to see that the previous finder as Splendidz laughing.

Thanks for the cache,

Rgds, Andy

After having run 8km this morning finding some caches, my legs were feeling weary - so I walked up the hill to here! I started looking on the wrong side at first and was just about to check if there was a hint when I spotted it and had a rather prickly retrieve!

Well pipped at the post, after all the problems we have made trying to become an 'Opencacher' we decided that this afternoon was the time to go and once more enjoy part of a favourite walk to find these two new caches.

The sun was very hot as we walked down the hill and came to GZ where instantly we knew we weren't going to be FTF. Mr H grabbed the cache and the log book told us that it was our 'team' member Martin who took the honours.

We signed the log and replaced everything as found. Thanks hal-an-tow for placing the cache.

The problem with being married to a muggle is that the spouse tends to lose patience when a walk turns into a 'standing around while he ferrets about in the hedges'.

Today it was agreed that I could look for the two new caches just south of Leicester provided we also had a cache-free walk. We missed the turn into Lane on our way south and decided to do the walk first. We're doing the Leicester Round in (short) stages. Today we went to where we stopped last time near Fleckney and walked on to Shearsby and Bruntingthorpe, circling back via Arnesby. No doubt we walked past caches, but I had not downloaded them to my GPSr so I wasn't tempted.

The relevant point about all this is that as we walked from Bruntingthorpe towards Arnesby we saw a hare. It was the closest I have ever been to a hare, the wind was strong and was presumably blowing our smell and sound away. The hare was trotting (lolloping?) the other way along the path, so we stood still and s/he was quite oblivious to us until only two metres away. Magical! Hares are so lovely. It was comical to see the double take, 'strewth, people!', followed by a *very* rapid departure.

I took this to be a good omen for finding this 'harey' cache later.

So, although we had had by our standards of (un)fitness a good walk around Shearsby, I decided I must come to this cache today, even though a hot shower was tempting. Mrs112358 stayed in the car listening to Radio 3 while I added a couple of miles to the day's tally by coming here.

The hint item may not have grown so much, but the nettles and brambles are shooting up. Fortunately I had my gloves to hand (and on hand) so the cache was found without too many punctures.

All is well with the cache. The nice new log was signed and the cache returned as found without anyone around to see.

First to find {FTF} at 1720.

Thanks for the cache.
