Cache resuscitated 18 months after previous find - a shame it is not found more often
Picking up a cache in the neighbourhood with my caching buddy nealyburnett (NB) and had written a note to myself to go for this one at the same time. Usually it is me who manages to line up a spoiler photo with the surrounding environment but NB excelled herself here by spotting the right location and then, because I was wary of crossing too many rocks with my fused ankle, she went for the cache itself - vanishing from sight completely at one point! Indeed I had to get her to wave and then put her head above the parapet (so to speak) to see where she'd gone. A large and very well-stocked cache in excellent condition emerged and we admired the contents, making a small swap - Thank you Lord Darcy for placing this cache

Good job there was reception for the mobile in the area. Would have been difficult without the spoiler photo. Thanks.

Out caching with Redroaming doing the nearby Adventure Labs and part of the 12 tors wherigo and stopped off to look for this one before heading back to the carpark. Started raining properly whilst here so I was glad when RR found it. A good sized cache in excellent condition. It was replaced as found, TFTC.

I was in the area picking up the new Lab cache when I noticed that there was an Opencache here. I decided to add it to my listings. It was only then that I realised that it was listed on both sites, so in theory two for the price of one. I just had to find it first. I used the spoiler picture to start my search and had to delve a bit deeper than anticipated to eventually find this bumper container.

A whopping great cache in a tricky location. I had a good look before consulting the spoiler photo when it started to rain. I didn't want to go high if I didn't have to, those rocks get very slippery very quickly. I was pleased to find this given the last cachers had logged a DNF.
Sorry to advise my usual collection of swaps are no match for the contents of this cache. Future cachers, bring something worth £1-£5 with you. TFTC and of course it gets a recommendation from me

Spoiler picture is very clear but searched a while and had no luck today.
Great spot anyway - thanks - AndreIsaPaul and Luke on this year's UK trip... [:D]

As I was in the area today with theclosefamily I mentioned I'd like to come to look for this cache, in fact I'd mentioned to Dan I'd like to look for this on numerous occasions. Today was the day, and after he had found a cache I'd previously found not to far away we headed over. I mentioned that we take a particular route to this cache and it proved the right way. Once in close proximity I used the photo to align where I needed to hunt for this cache. I headed over, and after battling with fern within metres of the cache I was in. A quick peak around the corner brought a smile to my face when I located this big container. It's full of wonderful swaps, I didn't bring anything with me so I left everything in situ, and signed us in. Many thanks Lord Darcy for maintaining this excellent cache, one which has been on my to do list for quite some time. This, for me, is exactly what caching is about.

Pleased to find this after a brief search on a dank and misty afternoon, especially as I didn't have access to the spoiler and hadn't watched the YouTube video.
Apologies for the very late log - making a determined effort to rectify our lax logging of Opencaches.
TFTC.

My word, what a large cache! I'd heard about this one on the caching grapevine, but never been to Foggintor before. Today was the day and so I set off on my Geocaching/Opencache walk with this one loaded on. What I had neglected to load on was the spoiler photo, it didn't really cross my mind this morning. And anyway, how hard can a 12 litre marine flare bottle be to find? Surely it must stick out like a sore thumb with a bright pink and yellow plaster on? Nope, not here it doesn't! I started searching, but the area was a little too wide. I headed back to the top of the spoil heap where I had internet signal, and went back on to the cache page. Armed with the spoiler photo it was back down again and I managed to line it up to make a quick find this time around. Thanks for keeping this excellent cache going, I will award it my first reccomendation!

We were passing by and thought we'd see if we could find this cache on our way past. The spoiler was very helpful and the wonderful cache was soon in hand. We were quite keen on the DVD's but didn't have anything to swap them so TNLN

Been here before for the previous hide. Today we were back in the area for a circular walk from Princetown.
Lovely sunny afternoon until here where the heavens opened.
We were all clambering over the rocks before Mr R spotted the well hidden container.
So far, on this year's holiday, the Opencaches are by far the best caches we've found. This one is no exception.

This was our second attempt to find this cache as on our first attempt we went to the coordinates listed on the Groundspeak site (now archived there) and didn't realise that at some stage it was moved. This time, armed with the correct coordinates and the correct spoiler photo it was not too difficult to find. And what an amazing cache ! This may not be the biggest cache I have ever found, but it is certainly the best with the biggest stock of swag I have ever seen. Just amazing in every meaning of the word. A truly great cache which gets the maximum rating and of course another recommendation. Many, many thanks indeed .

This was our first attempt to find this cache and was a complete disaster as we went to completely the wrong place! I saw that it had been listed on the Groundspeak site and for some reason went to that site for the coordinates and spoiler photo. What I didn't realise was that at some point it was moved to a new location with different coordinates and a different spoiler photo. So I am afraid a DNF today but we will certainly be back.

I did the GC cache very close first, then decided to take a direct route here - not one of my better ideas, this slope is not so friendly.
Took ages to find, and if it wasn't so favourably reviewed I probably would have given up. I even tried to get my new smartphone working so I could see the spoiler pic, but that wasn't playing ball. Took over half an hour, and I'd been over the spot several times. Knowing from the logs I was looking for a monster container, I gave it another go, and remembered another of Darcy's caches near Haytor and how he likes to make people approach in a humble way... And I found it!
And wow, definitely the best stocked cache I've ever seen. So much stuff in there, an amazing effort. Must've been quite amusing stuffing that into a rucksack to carry to site!
Took Lord Darcy's pathtag and will log in a mo, and a plastic ducky for the bath. :)
Definitely worth the effort to seek out - good hunting around here for letterboxes and other GC's, a productive day for me. Thank you Lord Darcy, good work.
Also nice - saw a large dog fox near GC when I was walking along the spoil ridge (and a half eaten sheep a short distance away...) - and got to within 10 feet of a buzzard perched at the end of the spoil surveying the valley below, before he saw me. Lovely spot.

WOW WOW WOW!!!!
WONDERFUL CACHE.
Now i was obviously a bit dim or my gps was having a bad day as i found myself rock climbing. Then decided to sit down and have some lunch before thinking again, while having a bite to eat i logged onto the site to have a look at the spoiler pic, and funnily enough i was pretty much sat right on the cache.
Mum loved this one she took a torch for her caching bag and i took a pathtag bag will come in handy for the tags ive collected along with a tape measure, i left a puzzle and a game, two flower poppers, some sticky badges and a necklace and 50p.
Signed the log. Thanks for the best cache in a log time, if only more caches were this size and interesting. Will look forward to doing more Opencaching caches as this is only my second. TFTC

You may be right, Andy. But with a 12 litre container, there was room for a little more. See the video for the extent of the 'problem'. 'Problem' - What am I talking about - it's a pleasure to be able to hide such a container.

Sorry for the flippant comment, but of all the 2150 caches I've visited, listed on 4 sites, if I had to pick just ONE where the swag didn't NEED to be topped up, this would have been the one . I've never seen such a large and well stocked cache either before or since my visit .
Top cache,
Rgds, Andy

Our third visit to this cache, Geo,Terra now Open. I was worried the army may be nearby as they use this area alot but there was no one else in sight today. Again, this was a nicely sheltered spot out of the wind but as I was signing the log, hailstones started to fall through the rocks which was a strange experience.
The cache is still well stocked and all is dry and in good condition.

I found this cache while it was still a TerraCache. Rather like one of the caches I had done the day before, my first attempt found me close to the cache, yet far away. I did consider the direct route, but (wisely, I think) decided against it .
After backtracking, I eventually found it. And what a cache - a truly great cache in every sense of the word. The description says "Marine flare bottle". Well, I have a boat, and inside it I have a marine flare bottle full of marine flares and smokes. But it's not the same size as this one. This one wouldn't have disgraced itself on the QE2 .
TerraCaches have a wider range of cache ratings than OpenCaches. This cache earned my first ever maximum TerraCache rating of "superb", and it gets the top rating here of 6 out of 6 - if I could have given it 7 out of 6 I would .
It seemed almost curmudgeonly to not trade anything, given the extraordinary selection of items in the cache, but regrettably I had nothing left to leave in their place.
Thanks for a truly "superb" cache,
Rgds, Andy
